Proclamation by Governor of Florida Honors Lives Lost at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School




Governor of Florida has proclaimed February 14 as Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Remembrance Day in Florida


Proclamation asks all residents of Florida to pause for a moment of silence at 3:00 PM on February 14, each and every year


All State flags in Florida to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on February 14, each and every year, in memory of the 17 innocent lives lost in that horrific attack.

Tallahassee, Florida - - (March 14, 2018) - - In memory of the lives lost when a deranged gunman murdered seventeen people February 14, 2018 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, a proclamation issued by Florida's Governor Rick Scott sets protocol for the State's annual memorial tribute to the victims. The proclamation requests that all Florida residents pause for a moment of silence at 3:00 PM on February 14 of each and every year. The proclamation also directs that all State flags in Florida are to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on February 14 each and every year. The proclamation was issued on the 2nd of March 2018.
