The Holy Bible characterizes man as being shapen in iniquity and conceived in sin. We are flesh and blood. The Bible further states that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. None of us are so privileged as to not need an intecessor in order to be Saved. Man, in his sinful state, is not worthy to approach God. The intercessor makes the approach possible. The intercessor is Jesus The Anointed One (most often referred to as Jesus the Christ or Jesus Christ).

Those of us who have come to know God through Jesus Christ realize just how important is the work of the intercessor. As we learn more about God and His holiness we begin to understand why we could not approach Him on our own. That knowledge gives us a much greater appreciation for the...

Coleridge's epic, "Rime of the Ancient Mariner", is clearly fiction (though it may be based in part on the account of a real ship whose crew member[s] shot and killed a bird [possibly an albatross] and suffered near destruction afterwards). In the work, Coleridge does a masterful job of contrasting love with uncertainty, supposition, doubt, indifference and finally outright fatal aggression.

The 21st Century Christian may experience similar treatment as the same sentiments cascade throughout a God-fleeing Planet Earth. Like the albatross, we mean our fellow travelers no harm. In fact, we are agents of Salvation (or, better said, "Agents of the Saviour"). We come and commune with them. We often appear in their distress and follow (or lead) them...

A PRAYER FOR BABYBOOMERS

Dear Heavenly Father,

We, the people known as Babyboomers, thank thee for letting us live. During World War II you spared our fathers and mothers. By doing that, you insured that we would be born!!! How can we ever thank you enough?

Most Holy Heavenly Father, we admit to having sinned grievously. From bebop to Woodstock to Dreadlock, we have sinned. We confess that we have murdered millions through abortion. We are not proud of our sins. We are ashamed of them. We plead the Blood of Jesus Christ over all our sins. We realize that we are moving toward the exit door of life and we need to get it right with you.

Heavenly Father, please forgive our sins and help us to allow you to lead us in the paths of righteousness. In the Name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
