Based on local market costs of mid-priced hotels, lodging per diem rates provide caps, or maximum amounts, that can be reimbursed to federal employees for lodging and meals while on official travel. As an additional savings measure, GSA’s lodging per diem rate methodology includes taking five percent off of the final average daily rate in each location.

Alliance Defending Freedom's Summit on Religious Liberty, ML
    ~ Wednesday, August 8, 2018

Remarks as prepared for delivery Thank you all for being here. On behalf of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, I want to thank all of you for your work for and commitment to religious freedom at such a time as this. As President Trump said to the National Prayer Breakfast last year, “freedom of religion is a sacred right, but it is also…under threat all around us…I’ve never seen it so openly [threatened].” This is a problem around the world. In the Middle East, some religious minorities like the Yazidis and Christians, after centuries of coexistence with religious majorities, are facing the possibility of extinction. In Russia, it is ill

Washington, DC - - (July 18, 2018) - - The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) awarded its Fiscal Year 2019 City Pair Program air travel contracts, which will save the government approximately $2.38 billion next year. Under the GSA City Pair Program, airfare rates for the federal government’s official travel are pre-negotiated and firm-fixed-price, offering a 49 percent discount on comparable commercial fares. In addition to offering considerable discounts, the City Pair Program allows the federal government maximum flexibility in how it books air travel, with benefits including no cancellation or change fees. “Since it began in 1980 with just 11 markets, GSA’s City Pair Program has delivered great value

Statement of Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel in Response to FCC's Inspector General Report Finding No Distributed Denial of Service Attack During Net Neutrality Proceeding

    Washington, August 6, 2018:

“The Inspector General Report tells us what we knew all along: the FCC’s claim that it was the victim of a DDoS attack during the net neutrality proceeding is bogus. What happened instead is obvious—millions of Americans overwhelmed our online system because they wanted to tell us how important internet openness is to them and how distressed they were to see the FCC roll back their rights. It’s unfortunate that this agency’s energy and resources needed to be spent debunking this implausible claim.”

The ABA is a diverse organization. Not all of its objectives are universally shared. But lawyers should be united in the goal of “advancing the rule of law throughout the United States and around the world.” There is a story about two police officers who pull over a car for a traffic stop. One officer walks to the driver’s side while his partner stands behind the car. As the first officer approaches, the driver rolls down the window and leans out, shaking his fist. “Do you know who I am? Do you know who I am!?” The second officer hears the ruckus and calls out, “
