    December 18, 2020 | Washington, DC - - The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration today released its annual 2019 traffic fatality data from the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS).

    Traffic deaths decreased nationwide during 2019 as compared to 2018, and alcohol-impaired driving fatalities decreased to the lowest percentage since 1982, when NHTSA started reporting alcohol data. The additional data, estimated from surveys covering 2012 through 2018, supplement the noncash payments overview provided by the top-line data released in December 2019.

    WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service reminds U.S. citizens, entities and resident aliens with a foreign bank or financial account that they have until October 31, 2020, to file their 2019 Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR).

    The IRS coordinated the extension from the usual October 15 deadline with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) for this year only to filers for 2019 calendar year FBARs.     CDC today confirmed another infection with 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in the United States that was detected in California. The patient who was under a federal quarantine order recently returned from Wuhan, China, where an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by this novel coronavirus has been ongoing since December 2019. This brings the total of number of 2019-nCoV cases in the United States to 13.

    CDC is conducting a thorough contact investigation of the person who has tested positive to determine contacts and to assess if those contacts had high risk exposures.
