    WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service announced today that the deadline to register for an Economic Impact Payment (EIP) is now November 21, 2020. This new date will provide an additional five weeks beyond the original deadline.

    The IRS urges people who don't typically file a tax return – and haven't received an Economic Impact Payment – to register as quickly as possible using the Non-Filers: Enter Info Here tool on IRS.gov.     (May 18, 2020) - - The U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) published (today) the following information: WASHINGTON — Today, the Internal Revenue Service is starting to add 3,500 telephone representatives to answer some of the most common questions about Economic Impact Payments. IRS telephone assistance and other services will remain limited, and answers for most of the common questions related to Economic Impact Payments are available on IRS.gov. The IRS anticipates bringing back additional assistors as state and local advisories permit. Answers for most Economic Impact Payment questions are available on the automated message for people who call the phone number provided in the letter (Notice 1444). Those who need additional assistance at the conclusion of the message will have the option of talking to a telephone representative.

On April 1, 2019, the Board approved amendments to Part II of the PSR policy, which establishes the maximum levels of daylight overdrafts that depository institutions may incur in their Federal Reserve accounts.     The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced today that the Medicare Fee-For-Service (FFS) improper payment rate has fallen yet again, and is at its lowest level since FY 2010. Today’s announcement reinforces the Trump Administration and CMS’ commitment to strengthening Medicare and ensuring that tax dollars are spent appropriately. CMS’ aggressive program integrity measures lowered the estimated amount of Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) improper payments $7 billion from FY 2017-2019 to a total of $28.9 billion.

    Washington, DC - - (October 22, 2018) - - The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) today announced revised requirements for Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) servicers when they assign FHA-insured reverse mortgages to the agency for claim payment.

    Effective immediately, FHA-approved HECM servicers can use alternative supporting documentation in lieu of previously required materials that, in many instances, delayed claim processing.
