    June 9, 2021 - - The U.S. Census Bureau’s Data Stewardship Executive Policy Committee (DSEP) announced it has selected the settings and parameters for the Disclosure Avoidance System (DAS) for the 2020 Census redistricting data (PL-94-171). The DAS uses a mathematical algorithm to ensure that the privacy of individuals is sufficiently protected while maintaining high levels of accuracy in the statistics we produce.

    The Census Bureau released the first “beta” version of the DAS in October 2019, and released further demonstration data products in May, September, and November 2020, and in April 2021.     (November 16, 2020) - - Today the National Institutes of Health (NIH) published the following information: An independent data and safety monitoring board (DSMB) overseeing the Phase 3 trial of the investigational COVID-19 vaccine known as mRNA-1273 reviewed trial data and shared its interim analysis with the trial oversight group on Nov. 15, 2020. This interim review of the data suggests that the vaccine is safe and effective at preventing symptomatic COVID-19 in adults. The interim analysis comprised 95 cases of symptomatic COVID-19 among volunteers. The DSMB reported that the candidate was safe and well-tolerated and noted a vaccine efficacy rate of 94.5%.
