In addition to telephone hearings, Social Security will offer the opportunity for an online video hearing using the Microsoft Teams platform beginning this fall. This new free service will allow applicants and their representatives to participate in the hearing from anywhere they have access to a camera-enabled smartphone, tablet, or computer. This stable and secure online platform allows the Social Security judge to see and interact with applicants and their representatives just like an in-person hearing, while maintaining privacy of the claimant’s information.     The General has also encouraged the sharing of this video message, online and in corps (churches) and other Salvation Army centres.

    WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today launched the latest story in the “Humans of HUD” campaign, which features photos and videos of individuals who have overcome hardships with assistance from HUD. Porsche Williams, a U.S. Navy veteran talks about experiencing homelessness and how the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program helped her find a place to call home. This week, HUD announced veteran homelessness in the U.S. continues to decline according to a new national estimate which indicates the total number of reported veterans experiencing homelessness in 2019 decreased 2.1 percent.

    National Transportation Safety Board says Initial Review of Duck Boat Digital Video Recorder System Completed





    (July 27, 2018) - - The National Transportation Safety Board announced Friday the completion of the initial review of the digital video recorder system recovered from the DUKW “Stretch Boat 7” that sank July 19 near Branson, Missouri.
    The “Ride The Ducks” amphibious vehicle had 29 passengers and two crewmembers aboard for a tour when weather conditions deteriorated on Table Rock Lake. One crewmember and 16 passengers died in the accident.
